Up for sale is a silver dollar minted to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference held from September 1-9, 1864 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The conference was held by representatives from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island to discuss possibly unifying the three provinces. Attendees from the Province of Canada changed the goal to the unification of all British North American colonies. This meeting succeeded in moving towards that goal which was achieved with the confederation of the British North American colonies and the establishment of the Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867. The reverse design features four plants which symbolize the unity of four national groups in Canada. Starting clockwise from the top, fleur-de-lis (France), shamrock (Ireland), thistle (Scotland), and Tudor rose (England). Please view photos and feel free to ask questions.
