1783 George Washington Unity States Draped Bust Token
Up for sale is a token which was likely produced at Bolton’s Soho Mint in Birmingham, England
between 1820 and 1848. The date on this coin, 1783, commemorates the end of the American Revolutionary War. The obverse depicts a portrait of George Washington in left profile wearing a wreath of laurel leaves upon his head and wearing a Greek-style toga (draped). The legend encircling the portrait reads, “WASHINGTON & INDEPENDENCE 1783.” The reverse is similar to the large U.S. one cent coins in production from 1793 to 1807. The exception is the deliberate misspelling of the legend. Instead of ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” it is spelled, “UNITY STATES OF AMERICA.” Please view photos and feel free to ask questions.
Let’s discuss offers: If we have “make an offer enabled”, please make a reasonable offer. We try to pay a fair price when we buy coins,
so 30% off offers will be ignored. eBay makes more per coin when you buy it than I do.
If we do not have that option enabled, please DO NOT email us about a lower price.
Let’s discuss feedback: We are not perfect. When we make a mistake, we will admit to it and fix it. We respectfully request that
you leave 5 star feed back to help maintain our seller fees low. Most people do not realize that 4 star seller
ratings make seller’s fees go up. Please consider that when leaving feedback.
We use barcodes to track all our items. This is the little 4 digit code, 2AJ1, written on the holder.
Your item will ship in a white poly bubble mailer as shown:
