Up for sale is a small gold coin minted between the years 1639 and 1785 by the Dutch VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) or United East India Company. These coins have a uniface reverse and are often crudely struck but they are made to the same metal composition as the Dutch Tuticorin issue gold fanams and the designs are based on fanams issued within the British Madras Presidency.
