1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Copper Medallion
Up for sale is a copper medallion produced by P.W. Ellis Co. of Toronto to commemorate the 60 year reign of Queen Victoria. The obverse displays her portrait in left profile. The dual dates 1837, the year of her ascension to the throne, and 1897, the year of her Diamond Jubilee, are positioned on the left and right sides respectively. The reverse has the crests of the seven Canadian provinces at the time circling down
from the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, centered around the
phrase, “Canada congratulates her queen”. Please view photos and feel free to ask questions. We are open to offers.
